We are thrilled to announce an Open Call and invite Baltic dance artists to take part in the 4th Baltic Dance Platform! Join us in Vilnius, Lithuania, April 23–25, 2026:

YOU CAN APPLY IN THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES:
Performance: a full performance, which were created and premiered from May 14, 2023 till July 10, 2025. All other works (e.g. work-in-progress, future premiere) are welcome to choose the category PITCH PRESENTATION or OPEN STUDIO PRESENTATION.
Pitch presentation: a 10-minute live or video pitch presentation and speech plus 5-minute Q&A with the international dance experts.
Open studio presentation: Up to a 1-hour live presentation to showcase work-in-progress or completed pieces in a studio setting and Q&A with the international dance experts.
Applicants may submit their application for one or multiple categories. When applying, please specify your preferred category and any alternative category that may be considered suitable if the Jury proposes changing the category of the application (e.g., from Performance to Open Studio Presentation).
The results will be announced by the end of August on www.balticdance.org and Baltic Dance Platform media. Selected participants will be personally informed. More information is available by e-mail: info@balticdance.org

In 2018, Sõltumatu Tantsu Lava/STL, the Lithuanian Dance Information Centre and Latvian Dance Information Centre joined forces to strengthen the international presence of Baltic contemporary dance and encourage networking among artists and organizations across the region.
Together, we strive to create a space and opportunities for Baltic Dance artists to foster strong, supportive connections with international partners, as well as, delve deeper into Baltic Dance identity and each Baltic country’s unique context for amplifying the artistic voice of Baltic Dance across Europe and increasing international interest in the region.
Baltic Dance Network. Established in 2025 and supported by the Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme for Culture (Long-term Network), the Baltic Dance Network will facilitate a dynamic range of activities across the region in 2025–2026. These will include Professional Meetings, Workshops, and a Visiting Program for dance artists. Additionally, the initiative will feature Online Discussions and Workshops, as well as Short-term Residencies—both small and extended;
Baltic Dance Congress. Introducing a new event format, the Baltic Dance Congress will serve as a space for in-depth discussions and reflections on Baltic dance identity, challenges, and future perspectives. This congress will take place during the Baltic Dance Platform;
Baltic Dance Platform – an international networking event dedicated to promoting the exchange of ideas and works, building contacts, and enhancing the distinctiveness of the Baltic region in the global dance context. An important component of the platform, the artistic program will offer a rich and diverse experience through various formats, including performances, open studio, pitch presentations, and artist talks. In addition, the Baltic Dance Platform is represented at the Düsseldorf Tanzmesse and other international meetings in the field.

Baltic Dance Platform 2024 took place in Riga, Latvia on 9. – 11. of February.
77 eligible applications were submitted in two categories: full-scale dance performance (including digital performances and dance films) and pitch presentation. 26 applications were received from Estonia, 21 from Latvia, and 30 from Lithuania. Three performances and five pitch presentations were selected from each Baltic country to participate in the event.
Estonia was represented in the performance category by:
- Netti Nüganen’s “The Myth: last day”
- Sveta Grigorjeva with “Dances to Dream, Res(is)t and Sleep to”
- Sigrid Savi and Hanna Kritten Tangsoo “Cowbody. Oh wow, it’s you!”

Baltic Dance Platform 2022 took place in Tallinn, Estonia on 19. – 21. of May which brought together over 200 international dance field proffesionals. The platform was organised by Sõltumatu Tantsu Lava (STL).

The first Baltic Dance Platform showcase took place on May 9–11th 2019 during an international contemporary dance festival New Baltic Dance in Vilnius (www.newbalticdance.lt). BDP presented about 60 Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian dance artists, showed 7 performances and multiple audience engagement activities and presentations. BDP was visited by over 60 experts, theater- and dance company managers and festival organisers from Europe to Asia and to North-America.
