Movement workshop: Burden of Rest

Sigrid Savi

The workshop is led by choreographer Sigrid Savi and is a side programme to the dance performance “Tropics” taking place at STL on the 18th and 19th of May. The workshop will be held primarily in Estonian, but we welcome everyone who speaks English. Previous movement experience is not necessary. The workshop takes place from 12:00 to 13:30.

The workshop focuses on the movement material used in the dance performance “Tropics” as well as what was left out of the performance. We will start off with general physical preparation to move effortlessly in difficult and demanding positions. As a group, we will learn movements “from headbang to bodywave”, healing combinations inspired by tai-chi, and ten resting poses that will break out some sweat.

Bring a bottle of water or a virgin pina colada, put on your comfiest sweatpants and your best ‘worst’ fake holiday slogan shirt – a la Seven Day Weekend. A retreat under the palm tree is waiting for you!
