Workshop description

Emeka Ene and Manon Parent, through the prism of their experience as performers in « Unearth », propose an explorative journey of both the body and the voice. The different technical and experiential tasks they offer all reach for a state of presence and attention that is simultaneously directed inward and outward. A state where feeling one self never excludes and is even conditioned by porosity to another – and vice versa.

Though immaterial, the voice shapes and animates the material body, vibrating through flesh, shifting posture, presence, and perception. Using the looping of an album as a metaphor for our persistent desire to return, remember, and relive, we will explore singing as a practice of self-reengagement. Singing together invites both introspection and connection: an inner landscape opens even as we tune into those around us.

Through guided movement explorations, we’ll gently build toward a shared choreography of attention, empathy, and presence.  Referring to some scenes from „Unearth“, we will layer activities, parameters and time and space coordinates and build choreographies framed performatively in order to find a way back to ourselves through each other.

All bodies and all voices are welcome. Bring what you need to be comfortable moving and singing. Kneepads are useful but not strictly necessary.
