STF 2026: MORNINGCLASS at TantsuRUUM // “Land Before Time”

The workshop focuses on improvisation practices based on connection without direct physical contact. How can we experience a sense of connection and an intuitive understanding of each other’s next movement through improvisation? Inspired by the qualities of water, Land Before Time shares concepts and methods from their artistic practice developed through observations of flow and currents. Techniques such as slow motion, popping, and isolations will be used throughout the workshop.

The workshop is intended for professional dancers and advanced movers.

About the Artists

Land Before Time is a Swedish creative duo consisting of Joanna Holewa Chrona and Yared Tilahun Cederlund. Working across choreography, music composition, dance, and DJ culture, they bring together dance, DJing, choreography, and sound composition to explore rhythm, human connection, and the space between movement and music.

Drawing inspiration from both local and global influences, they create performances that merge street dance traditions with experimental sound and improvisation. Their work Waterkind was selected by Aerowaves as one of the Twenty25 Artists and was presented at the Spring Forward Festival 2025.

Land Before Time has gained increasing international recognition, touring extensively throughout Europe and beyond. Their performances have been presented in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Scotland, Croatia, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, and Malta.
