STF 2026: Contour

Contour is a live invitation to witness and engage with the power of self-expression. Rooted in BIPOC trans and gay herstory, this immersive performance centers the queer body in motion – joyful, unapologetic, and in full presence. Using the art of striking poses – a technique shaped by the Punking/Whacking and Underground Ballroom scenes – the dancer flows between movement and stillness. At moments of pause, the performer becomes a living sculpture, inviting the audience to draw what they see: the silhouette, the outline, the contour. This act of collective observation becomes a radical gesture. It challenges the normative gaze and invites everyone, regardless of their relationship to queerness, into a shared space of intimacy, reflection, and co-creation. Here, the act of drawing becomes more than just mark-making – it becomes a practice of seeing, of accepting, of honoring queer existence through joy, beauty, and embodiment. Contour offers a celebration: the pleasure of dancing, the pleasure of witnessing, and the creation of a safe, caring relationship between performer and audience.

At the end of the performance the drawings are laid on the floor to be observed then collected by the performer to join an archive. This experience requires no previous drawing experience and works at demystifying the idea of bad/good drawing. 

Jérémy Gaudibert is a French dancer, choreographer and teacher of street and club dances. Their journey started in Paris with the Funk Styles and Old School Hip Hop in early 2000s and took them to BIPOC gay and trans cultures of Ballroom & Punking-Whacking in Helsinki today. Along the way they’ve experimented movement in many forms and set up collaborative and interdisciplinary projects across the Nordics.
